Choosing A Stand

Many grow not knowing what they want to do in life or with their lives. For others, its either they don’t know what they want to do or don’t know the first step to take. Surprisingly, it takes others ages to figure it out and some never do figure it out. So in order to search for their purpose, many of them do change their careers, home, country and even relations. Missing their path or getting it right.

But to find your path, soul-searching is necessary and you will need to ask yourself basic questions as to what you really want. You are to find your strength and allow it dominate your weakness. It doesn’t really matter how long it takes. But just make sure you don’t take more than necessary time to do that. It may take days or weeks or probably months. And when you finally find answers to your questions, your path becomes clear and the light falls right in your direction.

Psalm 119:130 – New King James Version (NKJV)

The entrance of Your words gives light; It gives understanding to the simple.

I always say there are no two people in this world whose journey of life are 100% same. It may or can be similar; but not the same. Even though we are all created in the image and likeness of God, we all have our unique purposes.

With life always being about paths and still keeps on being about path. What we need to know is that all paths are different and each path leads to a different destination. And each different path finally leads to your purpose in life.

By Gods divine power, we’ve been given the privilege to choose and we are also advised to choose wisely. So although we must all be guided by the word of God, some have chosen to be guided by something else. The only difference is the destination of our decision.

Deuteronomy 30:19 – New Living Translation

“Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live!

Right or wrong always vary from person to person when paths are concerned. To choose the right path in life, there is the need to understand your stand in meeting your needs and your abilities to meet them. In which case, no path is said to be wrong or right. Since each path depends on an individual and his or her purpose as God has given. So you can only discover if you have chosen the wrong path by comparing it the standard of God’s word; not by comparing it to someone else’s path.

Finding who you really are doesn’t come with a huge epiphany like it does in soap opera’s or movies.

What we must understand is that we are all different and uniquely made. With everyone impacting one way or the other. This our journey of life, despite its various paths has made it possible to have an impact on others. That’s why we must seek to positively impact everyone we encounter.

Our circumstances may be equidistant but aren’t the same. Our choices may commensurate but not equal. The denouements may be similar, but they will never be identical.

However, because I have decided not to follow a certain path and claim to know what’s best for me, I have been tagged as stubborn, self-centered and arrogant. But the reason why I have decided to overlook these names is that am guided by THE WORD GOD. Also by the holy spirit and by the prophets and teachers of GOD. However, at the end of everything, it is vivifying and empowering to know that I am submitting to God’s word in the Bible, and not allowing the people of the world control my life.

In the same manner, you have to allow yourself to be guided by the word of God. And let God through his word be the dictator of your life. Not allowing others to dictate the path you must follow.

Don’t let others’ fears or your fear of failure limit your potentials. Knowing that all things work out for your good.

Choosing a Stand for your life

Choose a stand and make decisions based on the word of God, and what you –

need to accomplish in your life. Be patience with yourself, be bold and persevere, always keeping in mind your life and purpose is unique. And unique you are yourself. Focus on all these things as you choose a path for yourself.

Remember to know yourself and recognize the values that you have as a Christian – the beloved child of God.
And you will realize that, if you choose your path wisely, you will be left with no regrets or doubts.

God bless you.
